Las más renombradas figuras de la televisión actual estadounidense vivieron su noche de gala durante la 71° entrega de los premios Emmy 2019 y llenaron de glamour el Microsoft Theatre de los Ángeles, California.
Fleabag fue una de las grandes galardonadas de la ceremonia, que este año, al igual que la de los premios Oscar, no contó con conducción para agilizar la transmisión. La serie se alzó con cuatro estatuillas en las categorías de mejor comedia, mejor dirección, mejor actriz principal de comedia y mejor guión (ambas por el trabajo de Phoebe Waller-Bridge).
Chernobyl y Game of Thrones también vivieron su gran noche: la producción que recreó el accidente nuclear en Ucrania se quedó con el premio a la mejor miniserie, mejor dirección y mejor guión; mientras que GOT cerró su ciclo con el reconocimiento a la mejor serie dramática y mejor actor de reparto en drama (Peter Dinklage, por su papel de Tyrion Lanninster).
